  SJDA Code of Conduct

The purpose of this code is to promote the best possible sportsmanship, individual and team performance for SJDA divers at all sanctioned events. The code is further designed to promote a favorable image of SJDA athletics, coaches, staff members and group members. In addition to all USD rules and regulations, the SJDA supports the following General Code of Conduct at all sanctioned events.
  1. All participating team and staff members, including divers, coaches, managers and personnel, and group members will abide by this Code of Conduct.
  2. All participating team and staff members will accept the guidelines, duties and responsibilities of their respective positions.
  3. At all sanctioned events, the use of alcohol and/or drugs is unacceptable and will be considered an infraction to be reviewed by the Law and Legislation committee with recommendations for appropriate action.
  4. Use of drugs other than those prescribed by a physician is unacceptable. Team and staff members are reminded of he consequences that could result from prosecution of a drug related offense.
  5. Vandalism, stealing, misconduct and destructive behavior will not be tolerated. Every effort should be made to avoid "guilt by association" with such activities that will be considered an infraction to be reviewed by the Law and Legislation committee, which will make recommendations for appropriate action.

VIOLATIONS OF THIS CODE:
  1. Immediate Action:
    1. Scratch the diver from his/her event
    2. Sending the diver home immediately
    3. Asking the staff member, coach, manager or group member to leave the event
  2. Delayed Action:
    1. Referring the infraction to the Law and Legislation committee for review with recommendations for appropriate actions which may include suspension.
